An unusual event took place this evening (Saturday) at Teddy Stadium, when Hapoel Jerusalem hosted Hapoel Beer Sheva.
Many fans of Hapoel Jerusalem have complained about unusual police violence towards them, and among those fans who claim to have been attacked is the journalist Haim Levinson.
"Arriving at Teddy's late meeting the press. Seeing a policeman running amok on a raging and beating citizen," Levinson wrote on the X social network and uploaded a video from the event, "Look at him bald in the middle giving punches. Filming him, jumping on me, choking me so I couldn't breathe. He took my glasses and slammed them against the gate. Broke the glasses and lenses (I have a top hat) worth NIS 2,000. I came to watch football."

Hapoel Jerusalem labeled the Israel Police and wrote on social media: "Disturbed violence by the 'guardians of the law'. Fans who just want to enjoy football are beaten, even soldiers who have returned from months in the war. God's riot continues. And for what, a cigarette in the stands? Are you crazy?".
The incident began with the police entering the stand in order to get one of the fans out, but in response dozens of fans came down in protest and started confrontations with the police in the tunnel below the stand.
The police response will be provided as soon as it is available
