After a 2-0 lead, Frankfurt thought they were sure winners.
But Darmstadt fought back and quickly gained the upper hand after the goal.
The Lilies pressed until the end and were rewarded with an equalizer deep into stoppage time.
The SGE, on the other hand, didn't close the bag and only started the second half of the season with a draw.
Dino Toppmöller's team also failed to win the third game in a row.

Not much happened after that before the Frenchman took his third opportunity to take the lead.
Darmstadt tried hard, but so far hasn't posed any significant challenge to Kevin Trapp in the Frankfurt goal.
