Franz Beckenbauer's public appearances have recently become rare and the 78-year-old has withdrawn more and more.
The last time the former sports greats faced each other was on January 6, 2023: at the carp dinner in Kitzbühel.
A year later, on January 7, 2024, the football legend died.

I don’t know any other world athlete who was like that.”
