New city track in Formula 1 – capacity of over 100,000 spectators planned

Contract with racing series runs until 2026
However, the future of the current Spanish race, which is taking place in Barcelona, remains unclear.
The contract between the track operator and Formula 1 runs until 2026. This means fans can look forward to two Grands Prix in Spain that season.
However, from the perspective of Catalan motorsport fans, there is a fear that a permanent move from the Circuit de Catalunya just outside Barcelona to the city of Madrid will become a reality and the race will be thrown off the calendar.
By choosing Madrid, Formula 1 is continuing its trend of city driving.
Miami was added in 2021 and Las Vegas last year.
