Split

The last matchday of the main round is coming up.

Germany is already in the semi-finals before the game against Croatia.

The voices for the game.

Cologne – Germany's handball players are expecting a heated duel with Croatia at the end of the main round.

“You know that the Croats have a lot of national pride and are passionate about the national team,” said DHB goalkeeper Andreas Wolff before the game.

National coach Alfred Gislason also warned: “Anyone who thinks they aren’t motivated doesn’t know Croatian handball.”

The DHB selection, which was preparing for a real final to reach the semi-finals, is already among the best four nations in Europe before kick-off.

Since Austria suffered a defeat against Iceland and the Hungarians also lost out against France, the DHB selection has already qualified early for the semi-finals.

We have collected the votes for the game from ARD and Dyn.

Dominik Klein (ARD expert) before the game about...

... the early semi-final entry of the DHB selection

: “The first catch is there.

But you want to reach for the stars.

I wasn't expecting the semi-finals, but I was hoping for it.

With this atmosphere in Cologne it will still be a good game.

I was sure that the Icelanders would win against Austria and I also believed that France would beat Hungary.”

...the approach against Croatia:

“It will happen that some players come off the bench and get minutes.

But there can't be a drop in performance because the boys want to repay the national coach's trust.

You can’t play with a handbrake, you have to go all out.”

... the opponent Croatia:

“They are street handball players who play with their hearts in the right place.

It won’t be an easy game today.”
