Night slalom in Schladming: Strasser with great ambitions
German alpine ski fans can look forward to legitimate hopes of a German triumph in the legendary night slalom.
Linus Straßer in particular is one of the favorites after his sensational victory in the slalom in Kitzbühel.
In 2022 he was able to win the night slalom once.

“I’m skiing really well right now,” said the Munich native after the emotional triumph on his “local mountain,” where he once learned to ski.
Straßer sees himself in the shape of his life.
“I feel like I’m skiing better than ever before,” he said. He certainly wouldn’t have any objections to a repeat of his success at the Schladming Night Race.
His motto for this: “All or nothing!”
Night Race in Schladming is a classic in the ski calendar
However, the Austrians around slalom specialist Manuel Feller in particular will not let Straßer win their home race without a fight.
Feller won three of the first four slaloms this season and is the clear leader in the slalom rankings, ahead of Straßer in first place.
The hopes of a home win are therefore high.
The Norwegians Atle Lie McGrath and Henrik Kristoffersen are also among the favorites.
McGrath has already finished second behind Feller twice this World Cup season.
Although Kristoffersen is running behind his own standards in the slalom this season, he has already won the night race four times.
Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, a Norwegian teammate of McGrath and Kristoffersen, recently suffered a serious fall on the descent in Kitzbühel.
