Nicolas Anelka, the former French international (69 caps and 14 goals), has just been appointed to a position where few people imagined he would be: club president.
The former PSG striker has been since this Thursday morning the president of the Turkish D 2 club Umraniyespor, located in the Umraniye district, one of the 39 districts of Istanbul.

Anelka does not arrive in unknown territory in Türkiye.
He played there for a year and a half with Fenerbahçe, where he scored 16 goals in 57 matches between January 2015 and the summer of 2016. As soon as he landed in the Istanbul capital, he agreed to detail for us the reasons why he agreed to take over as president of a football club.
