The incident between Union coach Nenad Bjelica and Leroy Sané was not the only upset during the catch-up game on Wednesday.

The Bayern Ultras also caused a stir with an action.

Munich – Boycott of sentiment, Tuchel Zoff and now the insulting poster against Union boss Dirk Zingler.

The Bayern Ultras have been a topic of conversation at FC Bayern for weeks.

Bayern Ultras put up a huge insulting poster in the first half

During Bayern's narrow 1-0 victory over Union Berlin, things got really loud twice in the Allianz Arena.

When Raphaël Guerreiro scored the opening goal shortly after half-time (46th minute) and when Harry Kane's goal was ultimately disallowed (55th), the sound level rose significantly.

Even after Union coach Nenad Bjelica's scandalous swipe at Leroy Sané, things became uneasy in the stadium circles - but the incident was not the only excitement that evening.

Already in the first half, the Bayern Ultras drew attention to themselves with a huge insulting poster that was intended to send a clear message to Union President Dirk Zingler.

“It’s better to be a winner than to criticize the Stasi pig who is courting investors” was written on the banner.

Next to it was the Union boss with a pig's nose and a Stasi uniform.

Bayern ultras criticize Zingler's attitude regarding the DFL's investor entry

The background to the insult is the DFL's investor entry.

Zingler's zigzag course in voting was clearly a thorn in the side of the Bayern supporters.

The head of the “Iron” initially agreed to join the club in the first vote in May last year, but in the second vote he then voted against the DFL model.

“We at Union are not fundamentally against investors in football for ideological reasons, because we have repeatedly invested with outside capital in all of its areas for 20 years.

(...) 1. FC Union Berlin is a story of courageous investors over the last 20 years,” explained the Union boss at the time.

A insulting poster from the Bayern Ultras depicts Zingler in Stasi uniform

By portraying Zingler in Stasi uniform, the Bayern Ultras wanted to allude to his past as a military conscript in a guard regiment that is said to be close to the Stasi.

However, Zingler himself had denied any closer connection to the Stasi.

Ultras also criticize Union supporters

The Bayern Ultras also added two stickers to Zingler's Stasi image.

On one of them there was a heart with the inscription “Investor Kölmel”, which alluded to the entrepreneur Michael Kölmel, who had repeatedly helped Union financially in the past.

On the other, Berlin's Olympic Stadium was shown: Behind this lies the criticism that the Köpenick team did not play their games in the Champions League in their home stadium (Alte Försterei), but in the Berlin Olympic Stadium, which has significantly more seats and is also the home of city rivals Hertha BSC is.

Union and Zingler do not react to the Bayern Ultras' insulting poster

The phrase “winner” can be understood as a dig at the Union supporters, who, according to the FCB ultras, did not express any criticism of Zingler due to the success of the last few years.

After the game, Zingler and the club did not want to comment on the Bayern Ultras' action.

“We’re not doing anything about that,” said communications director and press spokesman Christian Arbeit to the

in response to a query.
