The Ivory Coast team barely made it to the round of 16 of the African Championship.
Three points were enough for her in the victory over Guinea-Bissau in the first round, then she lost 1:0 to Nigeria and in the final round she was defeated 4:0 by Equatorial Guinea.
She will next face Senegal, the reigning champions who are considered favorites to lift the trophy once more, but the big question is who will be on their side on Monday.
Coach Jean-Louis Gasa resigned even before it became clear whether the Coast of the Year would advance to the round of 16 from third place, luck was on her side as mentioned and she obtained the ticket to the last 16 with help from other teams, but at this stage it is still unclear whether the team will be temporarily guided by the former player Emers Pay or maybe Herve Renard, the coach of the women's national team of France who according to "Lakip" has received an offer to coach the Ivory Coast in the coming month, will join.
Another term in the Ivory Coast for a few days?

The French newspaper wrote that Renard was a candidate for the position even earlier and that the association in the Ivory Coast is making great efforts to join him on loan until the end of the championship.
Renard has a contract until August 2024 with the French federation and there is no intention of releasing him due to the fact that he will guide the team in the Olympic Games, but he may be allowed to leave for the next two weeks only.
He may even be appointed at the end of the week and finish his post as early as Monday, if the Ivory Coast are relegated at the end of the meeting with Senegal.
Let's just mention that Renard knows the Ivory Coast and African football very well - he coached Zambia in two different terms and led them to win the African Championship in 2012, he also coached Angola (2010) as well as the Ivory Coast in 2015, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
