Paris will be the scene of the best of European swimming in 2026, just two years after the Olympic Games.
The competition, scheduled from July 25 to August 9, 2026, will take place in the new Olympic Aquatics Center (CAO) built and managed by the Métropole du Grand Paris and on the waters of the Seine for the open water events in 2026. federation had submitted its application on March 31, 2023 for the hosting of a competition bringing together more than 1,100 athletes around 5 disciplines: swimming, open water swimming, synchronized swimming, diving and high diving.
“This award demonstrates European Aquatics’ confidence in Paris’ ability to offer an exceptional experience to athletes, spectators and partners,” the French federation wrote in a press release.
The CAO, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, promises to be the ideal setting for this world-renowned event, reinforcing France's position as a leading destination for international sporting events.
In addition to the exciting events that will take place at the CAO, Paris will offer an exceptional setting for open water swimming events.
The waters of the Seine, framed by emblematic monuments of the City of Lights, will serve as a picturesque backdrop to these competitions, adding a unique dimension to the experience of athletes and the public.
