The Slovenian poured 73 points on Atlanta - the most in a game since Kobe Bryant's 81 in 2006 - and equaled Wilt Chamberlain and David Thompson who recorded the same amount in the past, with only Chamberlain (100 in the record, 78 in another game) and Kobe ahead of him on the list of scoring records in the game
41 of the Slovenian's points came in the first half, another record in Mavericks history, when in total he finished with 17/20 for 2, 8/13 for 3 and 15/16 from the line, which made the 10 rebounds and 7 assists he added look negligible .
All of this came four days after Joel Embiid set a season record in the NBA and, of course, a personal career record, with 70 points against San Antonio, and when the opponent across the street is the team that selected Doncic in the 2018 draft and sent him to Dallas in a trade for Trae Young.
