The match between AC Milan and Bologna was briefly stopped in the 16th minute, in agreement with the two teams, "to maintain attention on the theme of discrimination" on Saturday, a week after the racist insults aimed at Mike Maignan.
Both teams stopped playing in the 16th minute in reference to the jersey number of the French AC Milan goalkeeper.
On the pitch, all 22 players applauded while spectators at San Siro were asked to turn on their mobile phone flashlights when AC Milan called, the club said in a statement.
“The stadium is transformed into a sea of light against the darkness of prejudice”, continues the text, while on the giant screen of San Siro appeared a sentence from Martin Luther King: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only darkness light can do it.

Five spectators banned for life from Udinese stadium
During AC Milan's previous match, last Saturday at Udinese, Mike Maignan left the field in the 34th minute after spectators uttered racist insults and monkey cries aimed at him.
He was imitated by his teammates, forcing the referee to stop the match.
The match resumed after a five-minute interruption and was won by AC Milan 3-2.
“It was not the player who was attacked, it was the man,” the goalkeeper lamented on his social networks after the match.
He's the father of the family.
This isn't the first time this has happened to me.
» Since this meeting, five spectators have been banned for life from the Udinese stadium, while the Friuli club received a match behind closed doors, a sanction which they appealed.
