In the last three weeks, at least five skiing accidents were recorded during competitions or training.
In all cases, the surfers who accelerated on the surfing surfaces, found themselves with fractures in certain parts of the body and were rescued from the place of the fall by a helicopter, close to medical staff.
The phenomenon should worry the competitors, because the rate of accidents is increasing, and the latest victim is the American ski star Mikaela Shiffrin, who yesterday (Friday) was about to finish her skiing in the competition in Italy, when she lost control on the last jump and was stopped only by the safety fence.
A major disaster was avoided, but the 28-year-old Shifrin lay for long minutes on the cold snow, suffering pain, until a medical team glided down the track to treat her, and finally, as mentioned, she too was rescued from the scene by helicopter to receive treatment at the hospital.
"It's not that bad, but it looks like I won't be back surfing soon," Shiprin reassured the fans from the hospital bed, after it became clear that she was suffering from a fracture in her left leg.
And yet, the managers of the competitions need to give answers to the dangers of the tracks, because shortly before Shiffrin, another surfer, the Swiss Prisca Knoffer, fell and was injured at exactly the same point.
Watch Shiffrin's fall.
Pretty sure world cup skiing clips aren't allowed on social media so if everyone's cool and we're in the trust tree.
Here's the Mikaela Shiffrin crash no one in the US is allowed to watch.
