Great stories are legion in the world of racing.
This Sunday, “Émeraude de Bais”, trained by Benjamin Goetz, will allow Hervé Carlus, his owner, to see his colors at the start of the most prestigious harness trotting event, the Prix d’Amérique (start at 4:20 p.m.).
The former galloping trainer based in Mont-Saint-Michel then in the South-West in the years 1990-2000, decided, once retirement arrived, to take his trotting colors.

“When I was in La Manche, I was able to meet several trotting trainers, including Jean-François Nivard,” he explains.
During the holidays, his son Franck, then 14 years old, came to ride gallopers at home.
When I retired, I returned to Normandy, and I asked Franck to find me a small horse for both of us to take together.
