The relationship between Kimmich and Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel is considered tense after the 50-year-old coach wanted to sign a strong defensive midfielder before the season on the grounds that the Munich team did not have a real six.

At the end of the day, the coach makes decisions that we players have to accept.”
