FC Anadolu Bayern is fighting for relegation. Why was it going bad in the first half of the season?
The squad was far too thin. There were problems within the club, both with the players and in the management of the club. I watched two or three times and it didn't really look like soccer. The training also left a lot to be desired.
Why did you become a personal trainer and sports director?
From now on, only one person is responsible for sports. For the second half of the season, I not only assumed the position of sports director, but also the position of coach. I will work more closely with the youth sector so that certain foundations are laid there. The development of the entire club is very important to me. I not only want to hold the class this year, but also to move up into a higher league in the long term. We also want to bring the second team up.

Where do you get the motivation from?
I've been in contact with the club for a while. It is a new challenge for me, because until now I have only worked in the youth field. I want to get the best out of the team and secure relegation at the end of the season. To be able to solve problems, I first have to get an overview of the level of performance. There are some discrepancies within the team, which I will correct.
With ten new additions, the squad has grown immensely. What does that trigger within the team?
We sorted out five players who no longer fit into the structure in terms of character and sport. We also had another exit. There will be one or two complaints if someone doesn't get enough playing time, but that's what the second team is there for. It was clearly communicated that the players could only recommend themselves through training performance for the first guard. A healthy competition can definitely help us.

Why did you bring so many new players to Anadolu?
Most guys come from a higher league. It was important that some movement finally came into the club. I had an individual conversation with each player and was able to convince them of my concept. These are well thought out transfers. The most important thing was to find kickers who were ready to take on the relegation battle.
What if you didn't hold the class with Anadolu as you hoped?
We approach the matter with certain concerns. We know it's going to be tight. Nevertheless, we are positive and do not think too much about the descent. I would rather see the descent as a fresh start.
