Covid-19: Hospitalization of Flavio Briatore, the former boss of the Renault F1 team

LE SCAN SPORT - Tested positive for Covid-19, the former Formula 1 team boss would, according to L'Espresso, be in "serious" condition but not placed in intensive care. 


L'Espresso revealed this Tuesday that Flavio Briatore, aged 70, tested positive for Covid-19 and admitted Monday to San Raffaele hospital in Milan. His condition was deemed "serious" specifies the transalpine media but the former boss of the Renault F1 team in the early 2000s would not have been transferred to the intensive care unit.

The millionaire, former commercial director of the clothing brand Benetton, had been talked about in recent days in Italy by taking a firm position against the management of the health crisis of the government in Italy, in particular on the shutter of the closure of nightclubs. He had even spoken on Facebook in recent days to denounce  "an economy massacred" by the public authorities. 

His restaurant hotbed of contamination

Briatore, which owns a nightclub, Billionaire, in Porto Cervo, closed this summer, also owns a restaurant, considered to be a recent source of Covid-19 contamination. More than sixty employees have reportedly tested positive. L'Espresso specifies that Briatore participated in a football match on August 15 in the company of personalities, including Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who tested positive.

Bad news for the Serbian technician who has been treating leukemia since last year, but the Italian club reassured in a tweet on Tuesday, indicating that the former player was "absolutely asymptomatic". He was placed in solitary confinement for a fortnight.
