Maccabi Tel Aviv took off this morning (Tuesday) for Lithuania to play against Sudova in the Champions League qualifiers, with Patrick Van Leven also on the plane. Who served during Vladan Ivic's time only as the executive director of the youth department, received the summer promotion and also has powers in the alumni group. Although Van Leven does not function as the professional manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv - and the club has not issued a statement to that effect - the person who has only worked in the youth department for the past two years is now part of the professional management team in the alumni group.
Following this, he is present at almost all of Georgios Donis' training sessions and works together with Barak Yitzhaki on procurement and the entire lineup of loaned players who complete their youth.

Van Leven was also the one who took on the preparation of the senior team while Maccabi Tel Aviv did not have a coach. He prepared the team together with youth coach A. Uri David in the training camp and stood on the lines in the Champions League against Hapoel Beer Sheva. Maccabi Tel Aviv has an appreciation for the Dutchman and as a result he also received the promotion.
In the two years that Ivic coached Maccabi Tel Aviv, there was almost no connection between the Serbian and Van Leven. Moreover, their personal relationship was not particularly good. Now he has a common language with Donis, with Yitzhaki also a partner in the new professional triangle that leads Maccabi Tel Aviv.
