Legendary Czech footballer Antonio Panenka has contracted Corona and his condition is worrying.
The 71-year-old former star, after whom the delicate chip in the penalty shootout is named, was rushed to intensive care at a hospital in Prague today (Wednesday), in critical condition.
Pananka, who led Czechoslovakia to a degree in 1976, is also reported to be in a hospital in the city, connected to respirators.
The former star, who is named after the famous chip in 11-meter decisive kicks, stunned the football world 44 years ago when in the Euro 1976 final against West Germany he surprised goalkeeper Sepp Meyer with a gentle bounce to the center of the goal. An original kick by Pananka, which no one in the world has done before.
