International match against Turkey: Löw's B-sample

2020-10-07T21:51:02.570Z

The national coach formulated two goals before the game, both of which were missed. There were the Löw debutants 108 to 110 and memories of blissful nonsense teams under the umbrella of the DFB.

Result instead of knowledge:

Joachim Löw reiterated it before the game: "It's about the result."

Unfamiliar words for the national coach, who recently withdrew into the spheres of knowledge that the DFB team had already gripped like a gentle poison of indifference between the 2014 World Cup victory and the 2018 World Cup debacle.

Oh yes, a tour should finally be brought over time.

Both goals were more or less clearly missed.

The result:

Germany and Turkey split 3: 3 (1: 0) in front of 300 spectators in Cologne.

The first half:

An offside goal by Julian Draxler in the 7th minute raised hopes that the DFB-Elf could not fulfill at first.

Against a German team, which lacked numerous regulars, a Turkish selection, which lacked numerous regulars, got better and better into the game.

Yusuf Yazici missed the best opportunity of the guests (13th minute), who fell behind in added time.

Draxler defended himself after a great pass from Kai Havertz to his opponent and technically overcame Turkish goalkeeper Mert Günok with a kick from the outside of the foot (45th + 1).

Captain Draxler:

DFB director Oliver Bierhoff had clearly counted Draxler in the run-up to the game.

He could show against Turkey that he was not a follower.

The midfielder called up as captain also showed.

He often called for the ball, fouled here, slapped his opponent in the face and, to top it all off, scored well to make it 1-0 in stoppage time in the first half.

The second half:

It was turbulent!

First a wonderful shot from Ozan Tufan fell into the corner (50th), then Florian Neuhaus restored the lead after a one-two with Havertz (58th).

It went missing for the second time in the 67th minute when Efecan Karaca scored 2-2.

Luca Waldschmidt countered with a powerful shot in the left corner to make it 3-2 (81st), but again the lead went the way of everything earthly - Kenan Karaman scored 3: 3 in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Löw debutants number 108, 109 and 110:

With Florian Neuhaus in the starting eleven and his team-mate Jonas Hofmann, Löw rewarded two Gladbachers for their strong performances in the league.

That may not have been the reason for a nomination for Dortmund substitute Mo Dahoud, but he was also allowed to make his debut in the DFB dress.

Neuhaus played a spectacular bad pass right at the beginning, but then scored even more spectacularly to make it 2: 1 and let the ball be chased off with a robust effort before the 2: 2.

Somehow good, also a little bad, the appearance probably rather mixed, like that of all those involved.

Match practice at the DFB:

The older ones will still remember such wonderful constructs as the 2006 team or the A2 national team, which were supposed to give professionals playing times that were denied them in the club.

The game against Turkey could easily be the starting signal for a new edition of such a joke project, because so many players from the substitutes' benches and grandstands in Europe have not been seen in the Löw-Elf for a long time.

Antonio Rüdiger came as a grandstand guest from Chelsea and appeared accordingly, Nico Schulz as a bench press at BVB (and appeared accordingly).

The names Jonathan Tah, Julian Brandt and Benjamin Henrichs were also brought into play for "Deutschland 3000" or "Projektteam Fünfter Stern".

It growls:

Because of suspicion of tax evasion in particularly serious cases, the Frankfurt am Main public prosecutor's office searched the offices of the German Football Association and the private apartments of those responsible for the DFB in the afternoon.

Tax evasion is suspected.

The international match did not provide any further information.

"We don't want to ask them about that either, don't worry," the national coach was reassured by RTL, Bierhoff apparently avoided the microphones entirely, pointing out that he was only responsible for sports.

That is certainly not entirely wrong, but neither is it entirely true.

The expert:

An RTL broadcast of an international match from Cologne.

Of course, all target group analyzes spit out Lukas Podolski as the perfect expert.

There he stood, answered questions bravely and was also allowed to give intimate insights into his condition as an active player in the DFB nomination processes: "I was always cool."

If we had clarified that too.
