Tiger Woods was hospitalized following a serious car accident in Los Angeles County this Tuesday morning across the Atlantic.
The emergency services arrived on the spot quickly had to resort to hydraulic extrication equipment to free him from the vehicle.
“On February 23, 2021, at approximately 7:12 am, the Los Angeles Sheriff Department responded to a vehicle collision at the border between Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes,” authorities said.
“The vehicle was driving north on Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse Road when it pulled off the road.
The vehicle suffered significant damage ”.
The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, has been identified as golfer "Tiger" Woods, "officials confirmed.
“Mr. Woods was pulled from the wreckage by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for his injuries.
The reasons for the accident are not yet known.
An investigation is underway.
The golfer is "in surgery" for "multiple injuries to a leg," according to his agent Mark Steinberg.

Tiger Woods, 45, was in the area for the annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament at the Riviera Country Club, located in Pacific Palissades.
This isn't the first time Tiger Woods has been the victim of a high-profile car accident: in 2009, he crashed his 4 x 4 at his home in Florida shortly before his divorce.

In 2017, he was arrested after police found him passed out while driving his car.
Tiger said he took prescription drugs before the accident and didn't realize the effect those drugs would have on him.
