The Bundesliga soccer club FC Schalke 04, which is in acute danger of relegation, has to do without goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann "until further notice".
The 32-year-old broke a rib in the Revierderby against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, said Schalke.
The Gelsenkirchen team will play at VfB Stuttgart on Saturday (3:30 p.m.).
Schalke is in the league with only nine points after 22 match days, bottom of the table.
Ferryman had injured himself on the weekend after Erling Haaland's energetic start-up after 32 minutes while trying to clear things up.
He dragged himself through for another five minutes, but then left the field to substitute Michael Langer.
Ferryman joins the long list of players who are only limited or not available to Schalke in the relegation battle.
According to the club, William could not participate in team training for Schalke on Tuesday because of a slight cold.
Shkodran Mustafi, Nabil Bentaleb, Matthew Hoppe and Sead Kolasinac are currently completing an individual program.
Mark Uth, Matija Nastasic, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, Frederik Rönnow, Goncalo Paciencia, Steven Skrzybski and Salif Sane are currently only in advanced training.
