In Meppen, TSV 1860 can once again rely on its loyal away fans.

All-round driver Roman Höll is happy.

Youngster Morgalla could make his debut in Emsland.

Munich – Roman Wöll already had planning security during the week.

The loyal lion fan was one of the lucky few who were able to secure one of the coveted Meppen tickets on a winding path.

"It's always begging," reported the 68-year-old: "You're on the phone with God and the world, but at least it worked." A maximum of two or three all-rounder specials would also have successfully tapped local channels to get to one of the strictly limited 500 to get tickets.

"Even Svend hasn't made it so far," said Wöll, reflecting the status of Friday afternoon - and that's saying something;

After all, the blond-maned Svend had already gained access to every VIP grandstand in the country in Wildmoser's time.

TSV 1860 Munich: All-rounder Wöll has booked the train to Meppen for a long time

For a long time it looked as if the goal for the away game at SV Meppen would remain closed to all Löwen fans - and even to most home fans.

The lawsuit brought by the Lower Saxony third division club against the visitor limit, which was disproportionate compared to the rest of the country, ended in a stalemate.

It was not until Friday afternoon, 24 hours before kick-off in the Hänsch Arena, that SV Meppen & Co.'s urgent application was granted - now 5,000 spectators are allowed.

Woell couldn't care less.

"I booked my train two weeks ago," he says, looking forward to another trip away from the frustration of the pandemic: "It's part of life."

It is well known that Wöll and Co. have always enjoyed traveling with and for their lions.

Busy weekends, long bus rides with like-minded people, sometimes silent, sometimes lively, but always varied.

There is currently another aspect that makes traveling attractive for omnivores: the new away face of the lions.

As a reminder: 1860 was a point supplier until the beginning of November, since then there have been four times the full yield.

3:2 at newly promoted Havelse – still with Sascha Mölders.

Then without the ex-captain: 2-0 in Dortmund, 3-0 in Würzburg and most recently 1-0 in Cologne, where five regular players were missing.

Even Wöll is puzzled: "Did it ever happen that we won four away games in a row?" He gives the answer himself: "Probably in the regional league, but otherwise...

"Leo has been part of the squad since this week and is participating in all training sessions.

I hope that he will improve his quality again and take another step forward in performance.”

Michael Köllner on 17-year-old Leandro Morgalla.

Wöll knows that it won't be easy to expand the proud lion series abroad at SV Meppen.

"They're so strong at home, the boys," says the all-rounder, but trusts in Michael Köllner, who announced a reaction to the bitter 2-2 home win against Braunschweig (after a 2-0 lead).

"We want to keep up our winning streak and catch up with Meppen," explained the coach, who, in addition to the suspended Stephan Salger, only has to do without the long-term problem children Wein and Willsch.

Okay, Semi Belkahia was also hit during the week.

Leandro Morgalla, 17, is on board for emergencies, about whom Köllner says: "Leo has been part of the squad since this week and is participating in all training sessions.

I hope that he will improve his quality again and take another step forward in performance.”

Wöll is also hoping for a further development step – from the established professionals.

With a view to the points given away against Braunschweig, he says: “You can’t leave out much now if you want to get to the top.” And as for him and his away clique, who always traveled by minibus before Corona: “Travelling by train is nice and good, but I don't like the autobahn...” Prognosis: trips to the second division stadiums would certainly sweeten the new journey by train.
