The Black Bears Freising celebrated an important 3:2 victory in the relegation round at VER Selb 1b.

With that they handed over the Red Lantern to the enemy.

Freising

– The Black Bears have left the bottom of the table in the Landesliga relegation round.

This was made possible by the 3:2 away win of Freisinger Eishackler on Friday evening at VER Selb 1b.

The Domstädter showed a dedicated fighting game.

Not everything went perfectly, but the win over the wolves was okay.

The guests from Freising dominated the game from the start and had good opportunities.

But once again there was a problem converting chances - and so it was the hosts who took the lead: Fabian Bauer took advantage of Wolves' first majority game and brought in a nice assist from Daniel Smazal to make it 1-0 in the goal of SEF goalie Manuel Hanisch (8th.).

Extra training units in the majority game pay off

For Freising's coach Nils Hanfstingl it was a small setback, but no reason to worry.

His team continued to advance and showed that the extra training sessions paid off in the majority game: Christian Birk equalized with one player more on the ice (17th).

"Our first goal was exactly how you would imagine it to be with a majority - just brilliantly played," said the SEF coach, complimenting the assists Peter Meier and Moritz Lieb.

And it also worked in five-a-side: The recovered Vincenz Stegner switched quickly and passed the puck to Meier, who easily executed the SEF lead (18th).

Black Bears snappy even when outnumbered

In the second third the game calmed down a bit, Freising had more control of the game.

Selb had some good counterattack chances - especially as SEF players were increasingly sent to the penalty box.

But even outnumbered, the Black Bears remained snappy on Friday.

After winning a shot on his own blue line, Meier put it down to Nolan Regan, who dropped another defender and increased the lead to 3:1 (30th).

That was also necessary - because in the next majority, the wolves scored their second goal through Bastian Hubert (33rd).

Although Selb tried everything again in the final section, the Freising defense withstood the strong keeper Hanisch.

The guests had the upper hand at 3:2 and took the important threesome home with them.
