The Bayernliga promotion game in the Grafinger barn could only begin an hour late on Sunday.

Reason: the guest fans from Amberg torched Bengalos and smoke bombs.

The police had to come.

Grafing

– EHC Klostersee maintains the lead in the Bayernliga promotion round that it had regained two days earlier.

With the 5:1 on Sunday evening against the Wild Lions from ERSC Amberg, the Grafingers celebrated another six-point weekend.

Relaxed training and, above all, regeneration was the order of the day for the Red and Whites after the very intense and exhausting match on Friday evening in Buchloe

Grafinger show morale and bite

(4:3).

"Due to the many failures, it really got to the point," coach Dominik Quinlan remembers of such phases from his playing days.

"But when you win games like that, you take it a little better."

The hope for at least a little improvement on the personnel front was quickly gone.

With defender Marinus Kritzenberger, who recently played out injured and without training, another regular player broke away.

Head coach Quinlan summarily appointed the next debutant, Tobias Hilger from the EHC-U20, as a replacement.

The 18-year-old Defender had to wait for his first ice age with the seniors - like all the other active players.

An ultra group of visiting fans had detonated a smoke bomb and bengalos shortly before the starting face-off.

In a short time, the ice surface was enveloped in a thick layer of fog.

Because of the biting air, the referees decided to postpone the start of the game in the interest of the players.

It started almost an hour late.

The EHC immediately pushed the pace hard.

Now it was "burning" in front of the Wild Lions' case.

Klostersee had two or three good shot attempts in the first two minutes.

The best opportunity to lead was missed by Bob Wren, who had already outmaneuvered guest goalie Carsten Metz, but the puck only danced along the line of the Amberger Tor.

Klostersee quickly extinguished the Amberg fire on the ice

The 2-0 lead in the first third was provided by Florian Gaschke after an ideal pass from Raphael Kaefer, who played with a full visor (and pain) less than 48 hours after the operation in the dental clinic in Munich, and Vitus Gleixner with a pawn trick, after a long-range shot by Simon Roeder reacted the quickest (4th/13th).

In the second period, Amberg mainly shone with undisciplined actions.

Except for the 3:0 by Philipp Quinlan in five against four (24th), the EHC was not able to capitalize on many double the majority.

You were far from done with the three-pack against the counter-strong Wild Lions.

After the connection goal, Felix Kaller scored the important 4:1 against stronger guests (31st/39th).

With Gleixner's second shot in the 43rd minute, the EHC was again at the top of the table.
