Israeli skier Baranbash Solush continued his successful Winter Olympics in Beijing today (Sunday), finishing the giant slalom competition in 22nd place, after the entry ranking in one of his weak tracks was 52nd place.
The 23-year-old Solosh first jumped to the first round of the slalom, which he finished after 1: 07.89 minutes and during the second round, achieved a time of 1: 10.04 minutes, which gave him a total time of 2: 17.93 minutes and the 22nd place, when he won the gold medal Swiss Marco Odermat with 2: 09.35 minutes.

The competition was held in stormy weather of minus 13 degrees and winds, and with snow falling and poor visibility that caused quite a few mistakes and crashes.
Only 54 athletes out of 89 completed the track, with a number of additional competitions that were supposed to take place in the mountains postponed to another date.
So far Solosh has gone through great Olympics for him, having recorded one of the greatest achievements in the history of Israel in the Winter Games, when he finished Friday the combined competition (Down Hill and Slalom) and was ranked twice in 30th place, both in the separate downhill and Super G competition.

On Wednesday, Solosh will end his participation in the games when he also takes part in the slalom competition.
The surfer who represents Israel is generally Hungarian, the son of a Jewish father.
He has never lived in Israel and does not speak Hebrew, but holds Israeli citizenship.
His family lives in Budapest but he spends most of his time in Austria, where he practices at a local academy.
