Quentin Fillon Maillet will have needed an Olympic fortnight to enter the history of French sport.
After a disappointing first Games in Pyeongchang in 2018, the tricolor biathlete is walking on water four years later in Beijing.
Almost 30 years old, he has just won his second Olympic gold medal by winning the pursuit, just five days after his coronation in the individual event.
In addition to these two Olympic titles, there are two silver medals in the men's biathlon sprint and the mixed relay.
By climbing the podium four times, the native of Jura became the first Frenchman to achieve this feat during the Winter Olympics.
The untouchable Martin Fourcade?
And he also makes a sensational entry in the number of medals.
Even if for the moment, Quentin Fillon Maillet is still far from the seven Olympic medals gleaned by his counterpart and compatriot, Martin Fourcade.
Before retiring two years ago, the biathlon legend was crowned five times at the Sochi and Pyeongchang Games, notably in the pursuit.
He was also twice Olympic vice-champion in the mass-start, including once in Vancouver, bringing his total of Olympic medals to seven.

Quentin Fillon Maillet will therefore need to excel at the next Games in Italy to hope to beat Martin Fourcade's record.
On the other hand, Jean-Claude Killy's three Olympic titles in giant slalom, downhill and slalom at the Grenoble Games in 1968 are now within reach.
The biathlete is already doing better with Marielle Goitschelle and her two Olympic titles, in giant in Innsbruck in 1964 then in slalom four years later.
He also surpassed Pierre Brunet and Andrée Joly crowned twice in figure skating in 1928 and 1932 after their bronze medal in 1924.

Beyond the Winter Games, Quentin Fillon Maillet enters French Olympic history in general since it is necessary to go back to the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp to see a French athlete win at least four medals in the same fortnight.
