It's time for revenge for Lewis Hamilton.

We remember this incredible end to last season for the title of world champion between the Briton and Max Verstappen.

On December 12 in Abu Dhabi in the decisive 22nd and final round, Hamilton had been leading the race from the start, but an accident at the back of the pack and the arrival of a safety car changed everything in the closing laps.

Race director Michael Masi did not apply the rules to the letter, and restarted the race on the very last lap.

Verstappen, who had been able to change his tires unlike Hamilton, had ended up overtaking the Briton to afford his first coronation at 24 years old.

This Friday, during the presentation of the Mercedes F1 W13, his single-seater for the 2022 season, Lewis Hamilton assured that he had “never said that he was going to stop and that this season was going to be exciting.

The seven-time world champion (like Michael Schumacher), who had missed the opportunity to record an unprecedented 8th title, had remained silent during the winter.

"It was obviously a difficult time for me and it was a time when I really needed to take a step back," explained the 37-year-old driver.

I had my family around me, I made great memories," continued the seven-time world champion, adding that "eventually I got to a point where I decided I wanted to attack again this other season, working with Toto (Wolff) and George (Russell).

Still with Toto Wolff as team boss, Lewis Hamilton will have his young compatriot George Russell, 24, as his new teammate this season, replacing the Finn Valtteri Bottas, who left for Alfa Romeo.

Mercedes is the 8th team out of 10 to unveil its car, while the first pre-season tests will take place in Barcelona next week (February 23-25).

Bahrain will then host other tests (March 10-12) and then the first Grand Prix on March 20.
