FC Bayern is struggling to achieve a flattering draw against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Munich – would this performance be enough to advance in the Champions League*?

FC Bayern cannot get past a flattering draw against Bayer Leverkusen (1-1) in the Bundesliga.

The result was less thought-provoking than the shaky performance of Munich in the Bundesliga top game - evidenced by a curious slapstick own goal by Thomas Müller*.

Niklas Süle put the German record champions ahead against the Rhinelanders (18th minute).

His goal was not enough for a win because of Müller's dropout (36th).

On the contrary, Bayern were lucky that Leverkusen missed some high-quality chances around the half-time break.

Süle spoke plainly after the game.

"We played one of the best 30 minutes this season.

After the unfortunate 1-1 we fell a bit together and lost the ball too easily.

We allow the opponent to get back into the game.

That must not happen to us," said the Hessian central defender on

Süle continued to analyse: “We allowed two or three top-class chances and had three or four turnovers within five minutes.

You can see the uncertainty at the moment.

In the second half we came out with more control.

But of course we imagined a little more today.”

The 26-year-old explained: "It's a long season, we've already delivered this year, played a lot of good football, especially at home.

From time to time you have phases where you have a little less self-confidence when setbacks come.”

The truth of a wild game also included that Amine Adli (42nd/43rd) missed the best chances and Florian Wirtz (55th) also failed to put the ball in the Munich goal.
