Hapoel Haifa was drawn yesterday (Sunday) for a game against Maccabi Haifa in the semi-finals of the State Cup, and some of the team's fans were not really enthusiastic about the idea of moving the derby close to home, to Sami Ofer Stadium.
As you may recall, the Cup semi-finals are expected to take place in Bloomfield, but following the draw, which was convened by the Haifa derby, the possibility of moving the game to Haifa is being considered, as the vast majority of the crowd is northern.
But for some Hapoel fans this is not the case.
"Sami Ofer is Maccabi's house, not ours," read one of the references.
Maccabi should be taken out of its comfort zone.
In Bloomfield, the chances of moving are higher. "The club is aware of the requests, but at the moment they do not oppose the transfer of the game.
Meanwhile, Hapoel Haifa recorded another loss yesterday, this time 3: 1 to Hapoel B'Shlosha. "As usual, we played well and lost," said players in despair. "In the end, they take away small expatriates and go home without points."
