This morning (Monday), Maccabi Haifa sent an official letter to the Football Association requesting the transfer of the State Cup semifinals from Bloomfield Stadium to Sami Ofer.
Please, the Greens explained the obvious reasons, because in their opinion, there is no point in holding a Haifa derby in the center of the country, since most of the crowd comes from the north.
Also, on paper this is the home stadium of both teams.
The association confirmed the receipt of the request from Maccabi Haifa and said that they would consider the request, although there should also be consent from Hapoel Haifa for the move.
As far as the association is concerned, the financial issue is a significant part of the decision-making and no harm is expected here, as these are facilities with a similar amount of audience.
However, the association will have to make a quick decision, as the game is scheduled for April 19 or 20.
At this time it will be necessary to put the tickets on sale and close technical details that are not only related to the game itself.
