The women's handball team in Vaterstetten had to accept a bad setback in the fight for staying up on Sunday afternoon.
The national league formation around the coaching duo Tobias Graf and Melanie Gernsbeck lost in their own hall against TSV Schwabmünchen with 28:33 (14:15) goals.
Vaterstetten
- With the first home defeat, the TSVV missed the possible jump to the top of the table of the nine-team group and remains fourth for the time being.
However, the field has now moved closer together – there are only two (!) minus points between first and eighth place.
As one of five teams, Vaterstetten has nine minus points (11:9).
The guests from Swabia jumped up to second place (13:9).
From the TSVV point of view, the initial phase was already screwed up.
Graf had to take a time-out after less than nine minutes when the score was 2:5.
After that, things went back and forth.
Sara Broß even put her team in front after the change with two penalty throws in a row with 16:15 (33 rd ).
But the guests, driven by the almost unstoppable Lea Lammich (13 goals!), didn't let themselves be shaken off.
Everything was still open up to 22:22 (49th), then Schwabmünchen scored the decisive blow with three goals within 67 seconds (22:25/50).
Graf's team never recovered from this deficit and had to give up the points with 28:33.
