2022-03-07T15:38:48.677Z

Organized by Intermarché, the Sensationn'elles project will take place in the form of an annual competition, with the aim of "doing substantive work" for women's amateur football. An initiative led by former players of the France team Laura Georges and Laure Boulleau.

The French Football Federation wants to highlight women's football and this must go through "

support for young female football players and the clubs that support amateur clubs

" warns France Pierron, journalist at

L'Equipe

.

A project launched by Intermarché, in support of the FFF.

The store chain, partner of the Federation since 2018. The official launch of the campaign will take place this Tuesday, March 8, women's rights day.

“Sensationn'elles” is organized in the form of a competition.

The FFF will survey more than 15,000 clubs in France, to represent "

the real team of women's football

" on French territory, explains Anne Saintemarie, director of communication at Intermarché.

Eight clubs will then be selected by a jury.

Criteria such as the history of the club, the proportion of women within it or the actions it carries out on a daily basis will be studied.

On June 27, the winning club will be announced, which will be granted an envelope of 30,000 euros over three years.

In addition to this remuneration, the amateur structure will work in collaboration with Lewes FC, an English second division club which is a “

model of its kind

”, assures Anne Saintemarie.

In 2018, this club in the south-east of England was the first to announce equal wages for its male and female players.

A club that carries out the same actions for its male and female structures.

During this partnership, the French club will have the chance to follow a two-week course next summer in England to take inspiration from the Lewes FC model.

"

It remains difficult for women and girls to access football, play, coach or referee to their full potential.

We hope to be an influencer for clubs to invest in their female structure.

We are convinced that football can and must be a driver for gender equality

,” said Maggie Murphy, president of the English club.

this must not be a one shot

".

This competition will be annual and the clubs monitored over several years.

We want to do groundwork.

A speech shared by Laura Georges, former defender of the France team (188 selections) and current secretary general of the FFF.

We want to structure our clubs, develop our players and create exclusively female training centers.

We are not in the race for licensees but we give priority to the structuring of clubs.

For the moment, the priority is amateur football

“Assures the former player of Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain.

For this project, as before on the ground, Laura Georges finds herself supported by Laure Boulleau.

There are still places where it's not so easy for girls to play football

Laure Boulleau

The former defender of PSG and Les Bleues became the godmother of Sensationn'elles, after a spontaneous commitment.

The Auvergne-born, who started football at school and playing with boys, now wants to develop women's amateur football.

We wanted to develop the showcase for women's football and in particular the France team, but I feel that at the local level there is still work to be done.

In the provinces, there are still places where it's not so easy for girls to play football.

You have to reach everyone, everywhere.

I would call the overseas territories myself

,” adds Laura Georges, from Guadeloupe.

Laure Boulleau wants to develop football which is "

the best possible school of life.

Football has given me confidence, determination, hard work and respect,

” concludes the former player with 65 international caps.
