Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers will remain with the Green Bay Packers for another four years.

According to consistent media reports, including ESPN, the franchise agreed with the 38-year-old to continue his career with the four-time Super Bowl winner from Wisconsin.

The National Football League (NFL) picked up the reports and spread the news on social media.

Meanwhile, Rodgers himself confirmed the extension without providing any information about the contents of the contract.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the four-year, $200 million deal would make Rodgers the highest-paid player in football history.

153 million of them should therefore be guaranteed.

Since the end of the season, the Packers had said they wanted to keep Rodgers.

In February, Rodgers was named the MVP, the most valuable player in the league, for the fourth time.

Two days before the Super Bowl, he received the prestigious award for the second time in a row.

In the NFL regular season, he had 37 touchdowns and 4,115 passing yards in just four interceptions.

Nevertheless, he and his team, which also includes the German pass recipient Equanimeous St. Brown, were surprisingly eliminated in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rodgers has nonetheless often praised the measures Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has taken to improve the team in recent months.

That included buying wide receiver Randall Cobb, who Rodgers himself recommended.

Rodgers also said he felt the communication has been better this season and that "I feel like my opinion counts."

Denver brings in another superstar

According to consistent media reports, the Seattle Seahawks are said to have agreed on a spectacular trade with the Denver Broncos.

Accordingly, Seahawks quarterback Russel Wilson is moving to Denver, in return Seattle will receive several picks in the first-round draft and other players.

As ESPN reports, the medical check and Wilson's approval are still pending.

Just a few days ago, the Washington Commanders are said to have received a rejection in their campaign for the 33-year-old 2013 Super Bowl winner.

The deal would give Denver its first high-profile quarterback since Peyton Manning retired after winning the Super Bowl in February 2016.
