What does a coach do when his transfer requests are not met?
Köllner took it sporty and increased the quality of the squad - thanks to a quintet.
Terence Boyd, Tim Rieder and other dream players?
For well-known reasons, the lions could not afford it in winter.
"For 50,000 euros including ancillary wage costs, it's not possible," said sports director Günther Gorenzel - and together with trainer Michael Köllner pursued plan B, the maximum utilization of the club's own resources.
The provisional result is five reinforcements from our own ranks: players who were below their potential in the first half of the season, who had to be built up after injuries or who had to be finally introduced to men's football.
"You have to trust your players, that's the be-all and end-all," says Köllner.
The ex-problem children would currently “brutally help” the team.
Merville Biankadi
His contribution to the nine-point week: Equalization in Zwickau, dream goal against Verl - and an assist per game. The striker explains his high form with the trust of the coach and teammates, because his muscle injury bothered him: "I wasn't the easiest Guy in the dressing room.” If he continues to trump like that, soon nobody will think of Boyd anymore.
Kevin Goden
From Corona unlucky to Torjoker.
In Zwickau he scored with the first touch of the ball and against Lautern with his third touch.
It is slowly becoming clear why Köllner lured his companion from Nuremberg to 1860.
It's time that he was allowed to show himself in his true position: It's not in the storm, but on the right back.
Quirin Moll
How would things have gone for him if 1860 had brought Rieder back?
It's nice that someone also benefits from the tight budgets.
Whether at the back or as a solo six - Moll currently provides stability.
Nothing is reminiscent of the "frightening" first half of the season that Köllner had attested to Dachau.
Leandro Morgalla
If he's needed, he's there - and cleans up the back as if he weren't 17 but 27. "He's a vicious duel," enthused Köllner at the Belek camp: "Without his training at MAN, he'd have played a whole bunch of games made it with us, I'm sure of it.” The U18 international – a win for DFB and TSV.
Eric Tallig
Does the talent from Chemnitz finally open the button?
It currently looks like this.
Swirls to the right, crosses, shoots - so the third goal in the lion jersey is only a matter of time.
"I want to be important for the team in the final stages of the season," explained the 22-year-old in the stadium booklet before the FCK hit.
