Villarreal is playing in the Champions League quarter-finals for the third time in its history and for the first time since 2009 (they beat Inter in 2006 and lost in the second against Arsenal).
His great thrashing in Turin against Juventus put him among the eight surviving Champions League teams and matched for a place in the semi-finals against one of the main favorites for the title.
Of all Bayern's threats, none is as dangerous as Poland's Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 12 goals in eight games.
The local coach, Unai Emery, faces his first quarter in his 50th match in the competition.
