The changes from Nico Schlotterbeck and Karim Adeyemi to Borussia Dortmund seemed almost certain.
Apparently, FC Bayern would still like to have a say.
Munich – FC Bayern Munich* is in crisis internationally.
Reinforcements are needed to keep up with the European leaders.
The signings of Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui are imminent, FC Bayern would have closed gaps in midfield and at right-back.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund seemed to secure Karim Adeyemi and Nico Schlotterbeck - the two new national players are extremely popular.
But now the
kicker
reports that a surprising turnaround could be in the offing.
Nico Schlotterbeck: Is FC Bayern involved?
FC Bayern will lose Niklas Süle to Borussia Dortmund after the season.
Most recently, it was assumed that the Munich Süle would be replaced internally by Benjamin Pavard.
According to
kicker
, Schlotterbeck, who last traded with BVB, has now played "in the eyes of the FCB decision-makers".
Are the people of Munich struggling again in between?
Borussia Dortmund is apparently in advanced talks with Freiburg.
The 22-year-old is said to have already sent positive signals in the direction of the black and yellow.
FC Bayern should better hurry if they want to get Schlotterbeck to Säbener Straße.

FC Bayern: Will Karim Adeyemi return?
Not only the Schlotterbeck issue is on the table for the Bayern bosses: As the
kicker
further reports, the name Adeyemi is said to have been "controversially discussed" in Munich.
The RB Salzburg striker played for FC Bayern when he was young.
Adeyemi had to leave the club at a young age, but made the leap to Salzburg via the Unterhaching game association.
Borussia Dortmund is apparently currently in intensive talks with him and RB, the transfer fee should be a sticking point.
Adeyemi came out as a BVB fan two years ago, and a move to Dortmund is still considered likely.
Or do the Munich team straddle - as with Schlotterbeck - also with Adeyemi?
The new international could replace Serge Gnabry at FC Bayern, the report goes on to say.
Gnabry, in turn, is said to have aroused the interest of Real Madrid.
