Stefan Lex will start his last year of contract with the lions next season.

After that it will probably be over.

However, the captain still has one goal.

Munich

– Stefan Lex's contract with TSV 1860 Munich expires in the summer of 2023.

In an interview with

"Magenta Sport"

, the lion captain has now revealed how he is planning his future.

"I'm assuming that next season will be my last," reveals Erdinger.

Despite being only 32 years old, Lex doesn't think he'll be on the pitch any longer: "I'm getting older and I'm not getting any better.

I want to continue as long as I'm healthy and not set up at 35 or 36 from any past merits."

TSV 1860: Lex hopes for reinforcements

For what is likely to be his last season, the great lion has set himself a big goal.

"When I came, I always said: I want to move up at sixty.

You could stop that then, ”explains Lex. The Upper Bavarian switched from Ingolstadt to the lions in 2018.

1860 had just moved up from the regional league to the 3rd league.

Since then, the Giesingers missed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga three times in a row.

The lions want to start the next attempt next year.

Lex assumes that the club will be strengthened with "one or the other external person".

In the current season, according to the captain, the narrow squad size, also due to injuries, was one of the main reasons why promotion didn't work out in the end.

TSV 1860: Lex can imagine staying in a different position

Lex would also like to see Michael Köllner continue to stand on the sidelines next year.

“He is a coach who suits us well.

I think we performed well under him and I also assume that he will be our coach next year," says his captain.

Most recently, however, Köllner had left his future open.

Lex does not yet have a precise plan for his career after his career: "I did my bachelor's degree in sports management and can also imagine working in this area.

Maybe with the club too.” (kk)
