Roger Federer is not going to put down the bat.
The Swiss tennis player, who has not played since being knocked out in the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon tournament in 2021, announced tonight (Tuesday) that he intends to take part in the Basel tournament, which will take place at the end of October.
Federer, who has recorded ten wins in the Basel tournament during his never-ending career, is also expected to take part in the Labor Cup, which will take place as early as September.
"I look forward to playing at home again," Federer wrote tonight on his social media story with a thick hint of his impending comeback.
As mentioned, the former world number one, who will have 41 summers this coming August, has not played since the Wimbledon tournament due to knee surgery.
During 2020 he underwent two knee surgeries and returned for a round, but after playing five tournaments, had to undergo a third knee surgery.
