May 1st is traditionally the day of the run in Weilheim.

The traditional event will take place again next Sunday - and definitely in the usual format.

Weilheim – The relief for Michael Horstmann, the department head of the TSV athletes, is great.

The Weilheimer Aulauf, which will take place next Sunday, May 1st, can take place in the form "that we know from 2019 and earlier," says Horstmann.

That means: There will be mass starts, cheering on by spectators, award ceremonies and the opportunity for visitors and athletes to eat and drink in the gastro area.

Aulauf 2022 in Weilheim in the usual format

Until recently, according to Horstmann, it was still a question of having to guarantee access control or 3G proof.

It was also questionable whether hospitality would be possible at all.

Even if the corona restrictions have largely been lifted, the following applies: “We will also retain what we have learned about infection protection from corona,” says Horstmann.

There is a larger number of mobile toilets than before.

Disinfectants are still available.

A special route system is intended to prevent larger groups from forming when the starting number is issued and when catering.

Online registration for the outrun is open until Thursday, April 28, 11:59 p.m.

There are several runs to choose from.

There are the 10 kilometers (start at 10 a.m.), the 5 kilometers (12.40 p.m.) and Nordic walking over 5 kilometers (12.50 p.m.).

The so-called gross time applies (the time is triggered for everyone with the starting gun).

There are 800-meter runs for children and young people (from 10:10 a.m.);

Girls and boys start separately in the different age groups.

Further information on online registration, the possibility of late registration, the schedule for route maps and the like is available at www.tsv-weilheim.com/leichtathletik/aulauf/ and on Instagram at instagram.com/leichtathletik_tsv_weilheim.

The "Zwergerl" (born 2015 and younger) complete a 350-meter loop around the Auweiher (12:10 p.m.).

The relays for young people (4 x 800 meters/2.10 p.m.) and adults (4 x 1500 meters/3 p.m.) will conclude the event.

The start and finish area is in the Au recreation area – you can reach it via Geistbühelstraße and the street “In der Au”.

As of yesterday, 227 individual starters and nine teams have registered so far.

Horstmann calls the numbers “gratifying”.

Seats are still available in all races.

However, limits apply.

Thanks to generous sponsors, there are material and cash prizes again this year.

In addition, there are special ratings for the "largest team" and for the "fastest team" (related to 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, Nordic Walking).
