After more than two years of strict rules in sporting events due to corona restrictions, the European Judo Federation (EJU) announced today (Thursday) a first relief during the European Judo Championships, held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Until now, athletes, coaches, staff, judges and union leaders, were tucked away during the competition days exclusively at the hotel, when they were required to perform corona tests upon landing, tests on arrival at the hotel and before each athlete's competition day.
Judo was one of the first disciplines to start the "bubble" format.
The first relief, is that in the current championship to go outside the hotel and run from 8 in the morning, and the heads of the delegation could also go shopping if necessary.
It should be emphasized that the current change only applies to competition in Sofia due to the low morbidity situation in Bulgaria, and it remains to be seen whether the "bubble" will burst in the upcoming competitions as well.
