Israel's judo team, which is at the European Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, held a ceremony this morning (Thursday) for Holocaust Martyrs 'and Heroes' Remembrance Day.
The members of the team, which includes 17 athletes, national coaches Oren Samadja in men and two Hershko in women and team members gathered at 9:50 in the training hall where they live, turned on the radio through the app and at exactly 10 o'clock stood like all the people of Israel in a two-minute siren. The six million Jews murdered by the Nazis.

In recent years, the team has been careful to mark important events and dates during their stay abroad. Thus, a few years back from the European Championships in Montpellier, the team stopped the vehicles on the French-Spanish border, to commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Even before the peace agreements with the Gulf states, the team that managed to enter Abu Dhabi, held a Shabbat reception together with then-Sports Minister Miri Regev and the same happened on the unique visit last year, during the Masters competition held in Qatar.
