Hapoel Haifa is on the verge of an agreement with Solovdan Drapic, who is expected to coach the team in the next two years.
Owner Yoav Katz spoke with Drapich and the two went through almost all the conditions, including the appointment of an assistant coach who would work closely with him.
At the same time, Katz clarified in the conversation that there is an existing professional team at Hapoel Haifa, editorial staff who will continue in their positions, something that Drapich did not object to.
Unless something unexpected happens, a KS coach last season will make his way to Kiryat Haim next season.
In the background of the talks with Drapich and the expected meeting to summarize all the conditions, Yoav Katz spoke with other coaches, including Marco Belbul, but in the end performed a farce round.
Confusion required a broad professional team, including the appointment of an assistant, physiologist and fitness trainer, which is basically what brought down the negotiations with him.
In practice, there were quite a few people who recommended Katz go for the move, but the owner decided otherwise.
If and when Drapich is appointed, he will work at KS, but will start learning from the staff ahead of quite a few decisions he will have to make, as most of the staff are not signed and the club holds options for a great many players.
