As soon as the season is over, the new round of the DFB Cup is drawn.

You can find out who Eintracht Frankfurt meets in the live ticker.

Frankfurt – Oliver Glasner will probably not look back so fondly on his first competitive game for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The new coach of the SBU had to admit defeat with his team in the first round of the DFB Cup 2021/2022 Waldhof Mannheim, so the cup trip was over quickly.

A lot has happened since then and last week Eintracht was able to celebrate the spectacular Europa League victory and entry into the Champions League for the first time.

But before the Champions League anthem can be heard for the first time in the Frankfurt city forest, Eintracht Frankfurt must again compete in the first round of the DFB Cup.

As early as Sunday (May 29th, 2022) it will be known who the SBU has to face.

The draw begins at 7:15 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ARD.

The game will then be played between July 29th and August 1st.

In addition to DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, world champion Kevin Großkreutz will act as lottery fee, and the event will be hosted by sports show presenter Stephanie Müller-Spirra.

Markus Krösche is hoping for a “different face” from Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Cup

As usual, in addition to the 36 teams from the first and second Bundesliga, the four best teams from the past third division season have qualified.

In addition, there are the 21 state cup winners from the amateur sector and one team each from the state associations with the most members, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

Eintracht Frankfurt is in the first pot along with 31 other teams from the first and second divisions.

In addition to the four bottom teams from the past second division season (Regensburg, Dresden, Aue, Ingolstadt), the second lottery pot also includes the amateur clubs, only one of which has not yet been determined.

The clubs from pot two enjoy home rights in the first round.

Eintracht Frankfurt is hoping for a better performance this season.

Sports director Markus Krösche expects "a different face" for the SBU in the DFB Cup so that another elimination in the first round can be averted.
