Rugby: Emmanuel Macron hails La Rochelle's victory in the Champions Cup

The President of the Republic congratulated the Rochelais mounted on the roof of Europe after their victory against Leinster in Marseille.

La Rochelle won its first European title in the Champions Cup this Saturday in Marseille by bringing down the formidable Leinster (24-21).

A success hailed by Emmanuel Macron in a tweet: “A boiling Vélodrome stadium, a breathtaking final, and at the end of the day: a first European Rugby Cup for La Rochelle!

Congratulations to the Maritimes who are climbing to the roof of Europe,” wrote the Head of State.
