Arsenal 28-year-old Arsenal midfielder was born and raised in Ghana to a Christian family.

He grew up in the youth department of Atletico Madrid, where he also first rose to the seniors, before being acquired by the English team for 45 million euros in 2020.  

In recent months the Ghanaian national team player has started to approach Islam, following in the footsteps of his Moroccan partner and has also decided to convert.

Yesterday (Wednesday) in another step in his approach to religion, the talented midfielder decided to change his first name to "Jacob".

The actor himself said on social media: "I have a girl I love, I know from my side they will leave me but that is not a problem. I grew up with Muslims so at the end of the day it is the same thing. I am already married and my Muslim name is Yaakov."

Jacob is the name of the actor's father.

A name that is linked in the world of football mainly to the former Nigerian star who played for Everton, and we all remember from his time at Maccabi Haifa - Yakubu Igbini 

Igbini will follow in Haifa's coronation game this season.
