FIFA has announced that five substitutions in matches will be allowed permanently in the 2022-2023 season
FIFA clarified in a statement on its official website that the new decision allows any team to make five substitutions in three periods only during matches.
The federation said: “If any team does not use the three periods in which it is allowed to make substitutions, the unused number can be carried over to the additional two halves, and it was decided to increase the number of players on the bench from (12) to (15).”
And it was the first time that the number of substitutions was increased from three to five two years ago, after the resumption of football activity in light of the outbreak of the Corona virus.
