It's not a dream: Flying taxis will run at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics Israel today

The Government of Quisland, Australia, is expected to accept the offer of the American airline "Wisk Aero" • The company's marketing officer, Becky Tanner: "• The future is not here yet, but it is definitely around the corner

Until recently it would have sounded (and still can sound) like science fiction, but it's getting closer.

Australia announced today (Thursday) that flying taxis will be used as a means of transport, already during the 2032 Olympic Games in Brisbane.

The extraordinary taxis will take Queensland residents to and from the world's largest sporting event, after the local government is expected to accept the offer of the American airline Wisk Aero.

“Whiskey is a wonderful example of what the future holds for us,” said Regional Council Chairman Greg Christensen.

"This is another transportation option for people in our community, who are having difficulty getting from place to place, and it will be one option to connect them to games."

In what sounds like a scene from a sci-fi movie, Brisbane may introduce flying taxis ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Council of Mayors of Southeast Queensland and Whiskey to enable the development of the proposal with uniform regulation and legislation, along with the government.

The launch date has not been set, but Whiskey aims to get pre-planned routes from major venues with planned departures before operating similar to Uber with on-demand service.

"We are fully committed in our partnership with the Council of Mayors of Southeast Queensland to make this an option at the 2032 Olympics," said Whiskey Marketing Officer Becky Tanner.

"The beautiful thing about flying taxi technology is that because it takes off and lands vertically but flies through the air like a traditional airplane, there is no need for extensive runways. You can land on existing infrastructure like helicopter pads, a small parking space, on building roofs."

It should be noted that the 2024 Paris Olympics also has plans to operate flying taxis from the airport to the city center, but at the moment the project is facing bureaucratic difficulties and it is hard to believe that we can see this already in the upcoming games.
