The Syrian volleyball team will meet its Qatari counterpart today in the second round of the West Asian Youth Championship in its first edition, currently being held in the Saudi city of Qatif.
Our team, who plays in the second group, lost yesterday against its Saudi counterpart in the first round of the tournament by three games to none, 18-25, 17-25 and 16-25.
In the same group, the Palestinian team defeated the Qatari team by three sets to two sets, and the Bahrain team defeated the Iraq team by three sets to one.
The participating teams were divided into two groups. The first group included the teams of Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and the UAE, while the second group included the teams of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Palestine, in addition to Syria.
