Maccabi Rishon Lezion continues to strengthen for the season in the National League, with the goal of quickly returning to the Premier League, and today (Sunday) it announced the signing of Rakim Buckles.
The 32-year-old power forward (2.03 m) is no stranger to the National League, having played in the 2019/2020 season in the Hapoel Haifa uniform and promoted with it to the Premier League, where he continued for another season.
He scored 17.7 points per game and added 9.5 rebounds in the red-shirt season.
Last season he played in the Turkish league, in the ITU Istanbul team.
"I am very happy about the signing of Rakim," said Rishon LeZion coach Nadav Zilberstein, "I am sure that his abilities and experience, together with his great personality, will help the club achieve its goals."
Meanwhile, the naturalized guard Jared Armstrong, who previously played in colleges and was also on the staff of Hapoel Haifa, is a candidate to join.
